Shorts Movie Theater is the first theater in the world for short films — in a media landscape where audiences watch short-form content more than anything else, without a single way to watch it together. The nonprofit organization opened its doors in Bushwick in 2026.

“The trajectory for Shorts Movie Theater changed when we were introduced to Paul Leibowitz and Plot Advisory. A radical idea for the first theater in the world for short films became a real possibility through his mentorship, connections, and real estate expertise. As we developed from a business plan to a brick-and-mortar 2,500 square foot theater and bar, Paul showed up for big and small moments over 18 months of working together. At first, offering insights into the pitfalls and opportunities that new theaters can face, and then connecting us with partners across city agencies, and finally, finding our space in Bushwick. Paul believed in our dream and worked with us to make it happen - he has the rare combination of expertise and imagination and it made all the difference in the early days of this organization.”
